First off, let me say thank you to any and everyone who’s supported the Mick Vegas movement to date. As the new year has come and gone I feel it necessary to lay to rest the moniker Mick Vegas. The original idea I had behind it was to create a production team, in the vein of Organize Noize with live musicians, producers, singers and such. But as time progressed over the last year I’ve come to realize that that idea was pretty much a pie in the sky dream, for now at least. I’ve had a couple producers down with the team but one after one they found a way to work themselves out of my circle. All of them with the exception of my homie B-Phlat from Alabama. He’s been down since the beginning and we will continue to collaborate on future projects.
It has also become apparent that pushing my beats under the name Mick Vegas has only caused confusion. With so many people being aware of the Burn One brand, I find that I’m only underselling my product by throwing extra names into the mix. So from this day forth all of my beats will be labeled as produced by DJ Burn One. And to put a stop to anymore confusion, I produced everything that has been released under the Mick Vegas name.
Thank you all again for the love and the continued support. I promise to deliver more of the quality Country Rap Tunes that y’all have come to expect.
Over a year ago when Pill’s manager Whiteboy D gave me the “On The Outside Lookin In” record I knew the homie was going to do big things. What I didn’t know is exactly how fast those big things would come. With nothing more than a killer flow and endless grind, Pill has quickly risen from an everyday street hustler to one of rap’s more promising stars. His reality based bars would have been dope in the glory days of southern rap but I find myself respecting them even more now considering the musical climate that we live in today, especially in ATL. As opposed to copping out and going for club/women records, Pill still chooses to rap about topics which relate to his struggles and how YOU can make your way out of those situations if you find yourself in them. Applaud that man. Clap for em.
Here’s a joint I did for the homie off his upcoming mixtape 4075: The Refill which drops on November 17th with The Empire and DJ Skee. Props to The Educated Villains.
